Hoihoi Toi!

Kia ora e te whaanau and welcome to our new Monthly Te Ao Maaori & Takataapui Focused Event – Hoihoi Toi! 🖤❤️🤍

Hoihoi, hii, hoihoi, haa! Nau mai haere mai ki Hoihoi Toi! Hoihoi Toi is a place for us to be expressive and noisy in our creativity. Come along for a fun kaupapa Maaori arts and crafts night at Rainbow Hub Waikato. The theme of this month’s Hoihoi Toi Event is: Awa,🌀 Whenua🌿 and Iwi.

When: Friday 14th March, 5:30pm – 7:30pm
Where: Rainbow Hub Waikato, Hamilton

What to bring:

  • Your own crafts if you wish
  • Your own scrapbooks if you wish
  • Your own recycled materials like: cardboard / scrap paper etc…
  • A positive vibe, your BEAUTIFUL self and your pals.

Aiga Arts!

Kia Orana and welcome to our new Monthly Pasifika & MVPFAFF+ Inspired Event – Aiga Arts! 🌸🐚

Embracing and appreciating the culture of Kuki Airani we’ll be making ‘ei katu (flower garlands). All are welcome to enjoy an evening of creativity, yummy kai, and chill vibes.

Aiga, to us, means family and community, a space where we can be ourselves entirely! Aiga Arts is a low-pressure and fluid arts and craft event centered around MVPFAFF+ folks, open to all those who want to join us on this waka.

When: Friday 28th March, 5:30pm – 7:30pm

What to bring:

  • Any ei katu you’re working on
  • Any individual projects
  • Your lovely self

Weekly groups & drop-ins:

Rainbow Drop-in – All Ages which will be held at Rainbow Hub Waikato every Monday night during the school term from 3:30pm – 6:30pm.

Rainbow Drop-in – All Ages is for anyone who identifies as part of the Takataapui, MVPFAFF+, Rainbow, Queer or LGBTTQIA+ community.

Whether you’ve figured out who you are or you’re on a journey, this is a space for all sex, gender and sexually diverse people, as well as allies and support people.

To attend you must be 13 years of age, or if under 13 you can come along with a parent, caregiver or guardian. This is a safe space for all where we value all people.

If you’re keen to connect with your community, play some games, grab some free clothes, check out a book, create some art or just enjoy a nice hot drink, this space is for you.

Gender-Affirming Adult Support Group (18+)✨🏳️‍⚧️

Mondays 5:30pm – 7:30pm, hosted by Rainbow Hub Waikato and facilitated by Kaizenwolf Counselling.

Our new Rainbow Arts & Crafts Drop-in 🎨🖌️🪡

Rainbow Arts & Crafts drop-in is held at Rainbow Hub Waikato every Tuesday night during the school term from 4:30pm – 6:30pm.

Are you artistic? creative? Keen to share your interests and hobbies? This is a space where you can bring along your arts and craft projects to work on together.

This space will be inclusive of all rainbow identities 13+ and is designed for you to be able to work on your passion projects among like minded people.

Don’t have a project you’re working on? No worries – come along anyway to get inspired and let us know if we can support you to get creative!

Whakatere Vā – Navigating the vā, a space of in-between, together.  🌸🐚

Our new Pasifika & Te Ao Maaori Kaupapa inspired group! This drop-in is held at Rainbow Hub Waikato every Wednesday night during the school term from 4:30pm – 6:30pm.
 
This is a space for Takataapui & MVPFAFF+ whaanau to navigate identity, culture and being in a culturally supportive space. We can share experiences, uplift each other, and celebrate our diverse identities. It’s a place to foster belonging, healing, and empowerment, embracing both our Pasifika and Maaori roots while navigating the intersections of queerness and culture.

Whether you come along to join us for traditional Pasifika and Maaori activities, games and art or just take the chance to catch up on some study, nau mai, haere mai ki Whakatere Vā. Make this space your home away from home.

Whakatere Vā is a rangatahi focused space – 13-25(ish), but open to all those who want to engage with the space. Whakatere Vā is centred on Maaori and Pacific identities and communities, however, is open to all those willing to respect the space and group tikanga (protocols).

Rainbow Drop-in – 30(ish)+ is held at Rainbow Hub Waikato every Thursday night during the school term from 4:30pm – 6:30pm.

Rainbow Drop-in – 30(ish)+ is for anyone who identifies as part of the Takataapui, MVPFAFF+, Rainbow, Queer or LGBTTQIA+ community.

Whether you’ve figured out who you are or you’re on a journey, this is a space for all sex, gender and sexually diverse people, as well as allies and support people.
To attend you must be 30(ish)+ years of age. The purpose of this kaupapa is to help ensure that anyone who doesn’t identify as a youth has a safe space to connect with their community.

If you’re keen to connect with your community, play some games, grab some free clothes, check out a book, create some art or just enjoy a nice hot drink, this space is for you.
